The Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO) is an academic infrastructure reference organization for high-quality, patient-oriented clinical research in Switzerland. As of 2017, the SCTO is a clinical research infrastructure of national importance funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SERI). The SCTO’s primary objective is to catalyse valuable, innovative, and visible clinical research in Switzerland to deliver better therapies to society.
ECRIN and the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO) are delighted to announce that Switzerland has officially joined ECRIN-ERIC as a member country on May 22, 2023. This new membership marks an important milestone in our fruitful collaboration.
Switzerland had already been an ECRIN observer country since December 2015, and its membership application was approved at the Members' Assembly meeting held in Warsaw on May 22, 2023, in conjunction with the day celebrating clinical trials - ICTD. This decision reflects recognition of Switzerland's commitment to high-quality clinical research.
The application for membership was submitted by the Swiss Federal Council on April 13, 2022, and was successfully completed. Switzerland will be represented at the Members' Assembly by a delegate from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).
This membership further strengthens our international network and our ability to promote and facilitate collaborative clinical research in Europe.
