TECH4HEALTH

The network brings together academic platforms and teams of experts involved in the entire life cycle of medical devices, digital health solutions, biomaterials, and other health technologies. It supports academic researchers, healthcare institutions, industry partners, and startups in developing their projects, from the initial design phases through preclinical and clinical evaluations, regulatory processes, and market access.

TECH4HEALTH helps strengthen the credibility, visibility, and operational effectiveness of French research in health technologies. Its organizational structure enables the rapid mobilization of complementary expertise—rarely found within a single organization—to provide tailored solutions to scientific, methodological, regulatory, and clinical challenges.

Complementing F-CRIN’s other thematic networks, TECH4HEALTH is particularly active during the early stages of technological innovation development—before or in parallel with clinical investigations—by providing the specific expertise essential to the success of these projects.

TECH4HEALTH is coordinated by Marine Beaumont, Marlène Durand, and Frédéric Barbot, with the support of two project managers, Thomas Lihoreau and Njomza Mjeku.

The network currently comprises 17 members spread across the entire country. It draws on complementary academic platforms with recognized expertise in the development, evaluation, and validation of health technologies.

Activities are organized around a steering committee, thematic working groups, and training initiatives designed to pool expertise and meet the needs of project leaders.

TECH4HEALTH also draws on a network of academic, hospital, institutional, and industrial partners to promote the collaborative development of health technologies.

The network works closely with other F-CRIN networks to provide complementary expertise in the fields of medical devices, digital technologies, biomaterials, and clinical evaluation.

Notable collaborations include the ReferRythmo and StrokeLink networks, as well as numerous hospitals, universities, research organizations, and technology platforms located throughout the country.

TECH4HEALTH offers a range of expertise covering all stages of health technology development.

The network is particularly active in the following areas:

• design and development of medical devices; 
• participatory design and user involvement; 
• preclinical evaluations; 
• clinical evaluation and trial methodology; 
• biostatistics; 
• health economics assessment; 
• regulatory engineering (MDR, CE marking, clinical investigations); 
• quality and management systems; 
• data management and utilization; 
• artificial intelligence applied to health technologies; 
• training and support for academic and industrial stakeholders. 

In addition to these areas of expertise, the network also provides:

• methodological support for project development; 
• national scientific coordination; 
• training programs for researchers, students, and professionals in health technologies.

Members of the TECH4HEALTH network participate each year in collaborative projects aimed at developing, evaluating, and validating new health technologies. This work helps improve methods for evaluating medical devices, generate robust scientific data, and promote the transfer of innovations into clinical practice.

TECH4HEALTH is currently involved in several national collaborative projects aimed at developing new methodologies, improving the assessment of health technologies, and promoting their transfer to patients.
